Adorable meetings.

“A meeting has been scheduled at 10.00 am” an email written on 9.30 am makes the recipient anxiously hyper, What the hell; come on give me a break whispers someone.... it is 9.30 am and we have hardly geared up for the day. What’s the agenda? He guesstimates and assembles the recent grapevine to build an agenda and take the help of the intercom and dial the usual three numbers. He tries to get a wind of the agenda but gets a usual reply “No Idea: from the colleagues. By the time he does a failure attempt to get some clues for the meeting; the clock is ticking 9.40 am

None of the recipients are clear with the agenda and it is hardly 20-30 minutes for the meeting to start, they are not in a position to initiate a new work at there end and are preparing mentally for the unforeseen meeting.

Invitees start reaching the board room, some have reached, some are yet to reach and some started tracking and finding the missing people. The board room is getting filled with like minded people, with blank faces and blank agenda. People giving a formal greetings to each other by raising eyebrows or smiling through corner of there lips

Clock showing a smiley face of 10.10 am.

By this time all of them have arrived, they are trying to make themselves comfortable within the sofa’s and chairs, turning pages of there diaries, writing date and big question mark against the column for “Agenda for the meeting” by all the participants. In the mean time coffee was ordered, but the clock didn’t wait for anybody and advanced by 10 more minutes.

The meeting started with discussion on the global front talking about the global worries, local and international issue, Television, sports and all the happening things under the sun, by this time coffee came in and participants kept on discussing the vibrant issues. Truly said “A lot can, over a cup of coffee” The clock skips half an hour more in this pursuit... and is now at 10.45; yet the agenda is to be discussed!!

This is a common scenario in meetings at workplaces; people find it very difficult to avoid this sort of meeting, though it connects you with the latest development but at the cost of time which is precious.

Coffee in the board room turns bitter day by day and a single such meeting is enough to blow one’s whole day
